One of the “must see” things to do in Chicago, whether you’re a resident or visitor, is the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s River Cruise. The 1 1/2 hour tour takes you up and down the Chicago River and the incredibly well trained docents share information on Chicago’s rich history and background information on over 100 buildings. It’s a wonderfully detailed and quite fascinating tour. I highly recommend it.
