Happy Margarita Day! February 22 is National Margarita Day. I don’t know who decides these things, but who am I to argue. The basic recipe for a margarita a simple and I’m happy to make mine a double. So, here’s a double version of the classic:

Classic Double Margarita

Ingredients

3 oz Tequila
2 oz Cointreau
1 1/2 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
Limes for Garnish
Coarse Sea Salt
Rocks Glass
Cocktail Shaker

Method

Slice lime in half. Run the lime along the rim of a rocks glass and dip in a plate of sea salt. Set aside.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, cointreau and lime juice. Shake vigorously. Fill rim salted rocks glass with ice. Strain mixture in shaker into the glass and garnish with a slice of lime. Enjoy!
